## Concise Geometry: Master Geometry with 30 Hours of Self Study

Learn common core high school geometry after only 30 hours of study. This textbook covers every concept in high school geometry in only 115 pages.

Mark Twain once said, "I did not have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead." We take this approach to teaching new concepts, by editing and revising the content in order to use the shortest and most concise phrasing possible.

Typical high school geometry textbooks can be over 600 pages long, full of complex theorems and postulates. Working as an engineer for a major international shipping company, the author has spent his entire career explaining complex subjects to senior (and highly paid) executives. If he used a "typical math textbook" approach to communicating with executives, he would have lost his job a long time ago.

Executives, it is believed, are very busy - and they need quick and concise explanations to make quick and well-informed decisions. But are high school students any different? Do they have endless time to read 600 pages of postulates and theorems that have no application to modern work? This textbook is written as an anecdote to these problems, and to meet the needs of a modern high school student.

## Target Suitability and the Crime Drop: Chapter 5 from The Criminal Act: The Role and Influence of Routine Activity Theory

This is a chapter from The Criminal Act: The Role and Influence of Routine Activity Theory edited by Martin A. Andresen and Graham Farrell. This chapter is available open access under a CC BY license.

Target suitability is a cornerstone of Marcus Felson's routine activities approach, and critical in determining crime rates. Recent research identifies reduced target suitability, via improved security, as central to the 'crime drop' experienced in many countries. Studies in different countries show car theft fell with far more and better vehicle security. Yet increases in household security were more modest and do not track burglary's decrease as well. In this chapter, the authors explain that apparent anomaly as due more to an improvement in the quality of household security leading to reduced burglary. It is further suggested that improvements to home insulation in the UK that brought double glazing may have, somewhat inadvertently, introduced better frames and locks for doors and windows, that in turn reduced household burglary.

We approach questions such as Combinatorial Analysis with not repeated elements. We show permutations, arranges and combinations. We end this topic with the Newton's Binomial.

We show Logarithms and several properties.

In Arithmetic Progression and Geometric Progression we show several formulas.

In Set Theory we give solutions for several questions with the resource of the Venn Diagram.

Logical Propositions and truth tables are shown in several situations with interesting properties.

Proportional Numbers also are shown with theory and tests.

Percentages and interest with theory and several tests also are shown. Some of these tests show an interesting and useful application of the Newton's Binomial.

Central Angles and Inscribed Angles also were shown in the end.

## Chaos Theory Simply Explained (Basic Fractals/Chaos Series)

This is a concise article detailing mathematical equations showing when and where chaos occurs in linear algebraic equations and systems of linear simultaneous algebraic equations. The approach used is very simple and easy to understand by readers. Instead of using quadratic equations like the logistic equation to study chaos theory, we use simple linear equations for this purpose. The article starts with a single simple linear equation and ends with a system of two simultaneous linear equations. The conditions under which chaos occurs in linear equations are precisely investigated using several examples. The derivation of all necessary equations is shown in great detail. This article is aimed at the novice who is just starting his or her study of chaos and chaos theory. The reader is expected to know the basics of algebra at an elementary level.
