Heart-stopping supernatural thriller from the master of suspense. Addison Goodheart is not like other people...

Addison Goodheart lives in solitude beneath the city, an exile from a society which will destroy him if he is ever seen.

Books are his refuge and his escape: he embraces the riches they have to offer. By night he leaves his hidden chambers and, through a network of storm drains and service tunnels, makes his way into the central library.

And that is where he meets Gwyneth, who, like Addison, also hides her true appearance and struggles to trust anyone.

But the bond between them runs deeper than the tragedies that have scarred their lives. Something more than chance - and nothing less than destiny - has brought them together in a world whose hour of reckoning is fast approaching.

The whole world sees an era of peace and prosperity. An apparently perfect world, where citizens move without restrictions and technology provides security, recreation, education and even the conquest of Mars. Euthanasia, prostitution and the Blood Purification ritual are the main ways used to control not only the population increase but also the instincts of man: sexuality and aggressiveness. The crimes are almost inexistent and lawbreakers are re-educated or confined in the penal colony of Oceania.

However an Enemy, cautious and inexorable, is plotting secretly and will use, in order to achieve his purposes, people surrounding the protagonist, who will have to face losses and sudden and unexpected role reversals. And in the perfect gear, in or out...

What makes the Unable to Die series stand out?

It's a number of things, really. When I set out to write these books, I wanted to create a compelling mix of the sort of books I like to read. I ended up with something you might call a cyberpunk adventure set in an increasingly dystopian society. I had a lot of fun writing it, and so far readers seem to be having just as much fun reading it.

I'm particularly proud of the book's real-world relatability. A lot of us have known an elderly person who feels ready to pass on. Past a certain age, some would even call that impulse natural. Having my 91-year-old character discover he's immortal made for an entertaining twist on the reluctant hero figure.

How far into the future does the story go?

I don't want to spoil anything, but the series format allowed me to carry the premise a lot further than a standalone story typically would. A lot of things develop in unexpected ways, from the character level all the way up to the fate of the world. It gets pretty epic.

The Unable to Die series is a riveting chronicle of the future that will keep you guessing. There are times this series will have you wondering whether you're reading utopian science fiction instead of a dystopian world story. But it all becomes clear by the end.

Why should readers give the Unable to Die series a try?

Because it's a gripping tale of a possible future. Anyone interested in artificial intelligence, environmental catastrophe, economic precariousness, and immortality is in for a treat. I've been hearing from readers that they've read the entire series in a single day.

Thank you for reading!

Miss Buddha

The Buddha had not intended to return so soon. But things were not well with Earth, and the worsening (by the day it seemed) situation could not brook another 2,500 years of idly standing by. That much was clear.

So after a brief reconnaissance life as Giordano Bruno, he returned in current times to again set things right. This time as a young girl called Ruth Marten, Melissa's daughter.

The Bodhisatta Setaketu saw that the time had now come.

After a nearly uncountable span in the Tusita Heaven awaiting his destiny, awaiting his return to the little blue planet so far below, how could he know that now was the time?

Because, far below, man had begun once again to ask meaningful questions. Because nearly incessant war and slaughter had finally begun again to subside, and the northern part of the large Indian subcontinent now lay spent but peaceful after centuries of upheaval. For how long this peace would last he could not tell, but he did see that it would last long enough for his purpose.

The barbarism that had flourished for the last many centuries had finally run out of breath or passion or both, and in the settling down he now saw a small, still lake of opportunity in that far-below spiritual darkness. And so, seeing by the light that he was, he knew that the time had come to show and share this light once more.

Although he had made a point not to share his plans, word nonetheless spread throughout the Tusita realm that Setaketu was leaving for Earth, and as he prepared to descend many a well-wisher gathered to see him off, each proffering their advice as a parting gift--some sensible, most not. It is so very easy to be wise from such a safe distance.

Embracing his friends one by one, thanking each for his or her well-meant guidance, Setaketu finally stepped back, bowed in slow and graceful namaskar to honor them all, then turned and strode toward gates that now swung open to admit soon to be Siddhattha Gotama into the cold and starry beneath and beyond.

And that is how, with a final step, he left Tusita and with it the brilliant body he had worn so long. Then, as if falling through a long and dizzying shaft, he plummeted to Earth, through seas of lightless space, through the dust of a billion, billion stars, through harder and harder gravity, through miasmal planetary grasping, and finally into startled flesh that legend holds fell out of his mother's side feet first to then take seven steps in each of the four directions: North, South, East, West.

"We've already decided on a name," said Melissa as she returned from the kitchen with a fresh pot of tea.

"What did you pick?" said Becky.

"Ruth," she said while refilling her friend's cup.

"Yes." She straightened and rubbed the base of her now softly swelling belly in the way of mothers-soon-to-be, contented and proud. "She will be Ruth."

"Ruth is a fine name," said Becky, even though she didn't much care for it--a grumpy aunt of hers was also named Ruth, and she could not stand the woman.

"We think so," said Melissa.

"When is she due?" said Becky.

"Late January." Melissa poured some more tea for herself as well, then eased herself back into her chair.

Melissa was twenty-six years old and this was her first child. She and Charles had been trying for a while--long enough, in fact, for Melissa to begin to worry, at times even wondering aloud to her husband if he thought there might be something wrong, since things were not "taking" as she put it--the word her obstetrician, Dr. Ross, favored in this situation and one day had explained to Melissa in some depth.

"It'll happen," Charles would say. "It happens when it happens. Don't you worry."

"I'm not really worried," she'd say. "Just wondering."

"Don't you worry," Charles would say again, his attention already back on whatever it was that Melissa had interrupted--a football game, his breakfast read of the Los Angeles Times, something.

Humans: The Untold Story of Adam and Eve and their Descendants (Three-Volume Set)

This is the complete 3-volume series of the riveting theology-fiction "Humans, the Untold Story of Adam and Eve and their Descendants"

The set consists of "The Thesis" (Volume One), "Mjomba and the Evil Ghost" (Volume Two), and "The Demoniac" (Volume Three), and is about the devil's desire to claim his due, and one man's journey to hell and back!

In this explosive novel riveting theology-fiction, Christian Mjomba, a seminarian with a runaway imagination, has an assignment to turn in a thesis on "Original Virtue"; and he is tempted to use the Evil One, the Father of Lies who also masquerades as the Angel of Light, as his mouthpiece for expounding on the dogmas of the Church!

Mjomba imagines that if he succeeds in doing that, he will effectively make Diabolos work for the salvation of souls instead of their damnation! And for that, unbeknownst to him, he becomes a marked man.

And yes, incredibly, Mjomba succeeds in tricking the Ruler of the Underworld into working against his own interests and helping him craft a thesis that looks like it is a definite winner! But, brilliant as that accomplishment is, is it really worth the price that is exacted by the Evil One and has to be paid by the unwitting Mjomba?

KIRKUS Review: The book begins with an in-depth exploration of the protagonist's views; there's more action in later chapters, but the emphasis throughout is on ideas...The book covers an extensive amount of theologically intriguing material...Readers looking for new interpretations of Christian thought will find them here...An insightful...array of spiritual material. In the same way that C. S. Lewis wrote Screwtape Letters, Joseph Luguya attempts to describe the spiritual realm from a human perspective. Luguya does very well at portraying the character of the Devil...This book is one that every fan of C. S. Lewis should check out. Luguya has a very scholarly form just like Lewis... It is a very convicting book. Luguya is a great writer and well worth the investment in this huge book.

Midwest Book Review: This is a novel about the Devil's desire to claim his due, and one man's journey to hell and back. Hellishly delicious, (Humans) is a worthy contemplation of good and evil, and highly recommended reading for its insights on humanity, its wordplay, and sheer devilish delight.

Fr. Gary Coulter: Joseph Luguya has written a very different novel, somewhat on the lines of C.S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters.

Stanford Business Magazine: In this novel, the fictitious author of a thesis on "Original Virtue" offers an African perspective of spirituality in general and Christianity in particular.

A Life for Eleanor Rigby (A Short Story)

"I understand your feelings, but you know that living in the virtual world and ignoring the world around you is not healthy. You have difficulties dealing with your traumas. Living a virtual life is an escape from your problems. It won't help you to get a grip on the real issues which are preventing you from living your life fully. You live in a dream, Eleanor Rigby."

Nurse MacKenzie

"When Eva Mendez looked into my eyes, my life began.

I remember that day clearly. The events took place in London, in the hologram matrix of the second reality I have entered voluntarily to live in..."

Eleanor Rigby feels an irresistible attraction towards Eva Mendez, the first Green Party's candidate for prime minister of Great Britain; but Eva is not a real person--she is a hologram in a computer simulation of a secondary reality that runs autonomously. Eleanor, on the other hand, is an organic person who has volunteered to live as an avatar in the computer simulation that is populated by other avatars, and holograms like Eva. Leading a lonely life in a halfway house, Eleanor escapes the primary reality via an electronic disc she attaches to her temple. When Eva returns Eleanor's affection and offers her a job, Eleanor is tempted to stay in her new life that seems to provide everything real life doesn't. As she prepares to leave the primary reality behind for good, nurse MacKenzie knocks on the door of her room...

A Hole in the Pavement: A Short Story

Every morning, Norris watches his goddess walk to the bus stop in front of him, the gap between them far wider than the physical distance. This morning, she stumbles. He wants to run and help her, but finds himself stuck in a metaphorical hole that appeared along with his self doubt. By the time he gets out, she's long gone. He vows that if it happens again, he won't hesitate, but when she falls the next day, he has more than his own hole to deal with. Can he find his heroic self before she walks away?

In true magical realism style, this heart warming, humorous and profound short story blurs the lines between fantasy and reality - the holes and Norris's relationship to them are metaphors for his emotional/spiritual development. The story a readers' favorite from 'A Matter of Perception,' a collection of urban fantasy and magical realism short stories by the same author. It has received the Awesome Indies Badge of Approval.

This book includes the short story 'A Hole in the Pavement' and the first three chapters of 'Worlds Within Worlds', a metaphysical thriller by the same author.

The Way of The Fairy Godmother

2015 Winner Writers Digest Self Published eBook Inspirational category.

First Place 2016 Golden Apple Awards for Inspirational eBook

I am a seeker of serenity, searching for the pathways of enduring happiness. Decades of exploring and synthesizing avenues to wisdom led me to my favorite fairytale, the tale of Cinderella. This time I didn't interpret the fairytale from Cinderella's viewpoint. Instead I apprenticed to the Fairy Godmother. I noticed the Fairy Godmother lives within uncompromising, radiant happiness. Her lifestyle is dangerously optimistic. As a result she expedites miraculous outcomes. It's not that she doesn't notice the problems of life. Cinderella didn't have a dress for the ball. She needs a coach and driver. When you are grounded in reality you deal with the problems.

I don't want to tell you how old I was before I began creating my life from the perspective of the Fairy Godmother. Let's just leave it at, for much of my life I was in the habit of creating life from Cinderella's point of view. More often than not I was disappointed. Like Cinderella I worked and worked to create harmony in environments that would not support harmony. Such an unstinting effort is exhausting, especially after several decades. To say it was stressful and no fun only scratches the surface of the issue. It was a harsh and bleak way to live. Imagine Cinderella in her thirties and forties scrubbing away at the kitchen floor, struggling to make beauty in an environment for people who cannot appreciate elegance. Living life from Cinderella's perspective is to stay entrapped in the young maiden who longs for fulfillment. Hardship is her constant companion. Unfulfilled relationships are her unremitting burden.

My quest? Mature beyond the Cinderella archetype. Find enduring happiness. Imitating Cinderella had generated disasters. It's tough to admit. I'm trained in the skills of good communication and the secrets of happy relationships. I have a masters degree in counseling and I've spent decades running down the pathways of mystics, practicing their healing methods. But when it came to relationships even the people who love me the most shook their heads in dismay. Okay, I'll confess. I was in my fifties when I set about studying the ways of the Fairy Godmother.

Way of the Fairy Godmother explores the skills of savoring and what is already working in life. One teacher claimed; if we can breathe we can improve our circumstances. He meant "breathe" in the literal, not metaphoric, sense. That's intense! Do you know the power of a cleansing breath? So when the Fairy Godmother arrived in Cinderella's vegetable garden, almost hidden by the stalks of corn, she didn't talk with Cinderella about her problems. The Fairy Godmother's first conversation with Cinderella explored her dreams and Cinderella's dream was a first date with the Prince. This is important because entwining Deepest Desires with our strengths leads us into a state of absorption and flow. Like the athlete who finds 'the zone' we are lost in the pleasure of growing mastery. One of Cinderella's strengths? Her need to create beauty. She didn't just clean her house, she made her home shine with the love she put into her task. Loving was another strength. Also a Fairy Godmother models a positive language specific to goals and ambitions. Why? Our brains translate our words and thoughts into images. Our biochemistry interacts with images. The Fairy Godmother teaches the power of visual images to prepare us for success and happiness. A Proclamation will revolutionize Cinderella's life. Why? Clear goals initiate self-esteem. Focal points of beauty support her on the journey. Golden Ladders each rung associated with behaviors congruent with Deepest Desires will delineate the territory of personal happiness. With step by step procedures we too enter the world of the Fairy Godmother. If we are stuck in the Cinderella rut, there is a better way.

Ten Yuwmahn Beginnings (The Yuwmahn Compendium)

Welcome to the world of Yuwmah. This book of 'Ten Yuwmahn Beginnings' offers a brief introduction to each volume of The Yuwmahn Compendium and an overall picture of the nature and philosophies of the Yuwmahn concept.

The Yuwmahns are a race of people from the remote and isolated city of Yuwmah, an ancient community hidden away in the wilderness of South America. They are part of a highly evolved and advanced civilisation whose approach to life and governance are far superior to our own -- having overcome the global challenges of over-population, starvation, crime, drugs, spiritual poverty, and a deteriorating social system. Their simple yet comprehensive approach to government, education, health, and happiness are nothing short of inspirational.

Through the course of each volume, the reader is presented with the depth and simplicity of the Yuwmahn philosophy, including the Five Pillars of Universal Wisdom; a system of governance for self, family, community, and the entire world. Each book challenges the reader to 'do better', to 'be better', and to 'have better' -- to set their own 'laws to live by' and to identify what matters -- and what matters most.

The Yuwmahn Compendium maps out a better way for mankind to live and prosper, to advance the human spirit, to rise above the ugliness and futility of modern living, and to ennoble the human soul.

Within these pages are reflections of Plato's Republic, Thomas Moore's Utopia, James Hilton's Shangrila in Lost Horizon, Og Mandino's A Better Way To Live, George Orwell's 1984, Aldous Huxley's A Brave New World, The Four Agreements, and The Alchemist.

The books of the Yuwmahn Compendium have as their central theme the pursuit of human happiness for every individual, family, and community. Collectively the Yuwmahn canon addresses the greatest philosophical questions of all time:

oHow did man come to be?

oWhat is the meaning of life?

oWhat are the most noble purposes of our existence?

oWhat is the best way for mankind to live?

oHow do we design an ideal world to maximise the human experience and ensure a peaceful planet?

The main intention of The Yuwmahn Compendium is to promote thought and discussion of our human potential: of the nature of our earthly home, the life we might live, the world we might create for ourselves into the future, and the legacy we might leave to the generations who follow. Through the pages of The Yuwmahn Compendium the reader is taken on a voyage of discovery: a reflection of the past, a re-assessment of the present, and onward to a frank re-evaluation of our future potential as the dominant species on planet earth.

This is your invitation to step out of the darkness and deceit of the ways of the modern world and into the light of pure knowledge and understanding of the better way for mankind to live together in peace and prosperity as a diverse and united 'global human family'.

In a frantic chase through his mind, long-forgotten memories from a tragic past, as well as virtual environments, he will finally put together the missing pieces of the most unbelievable plan ever to affect mankind.

It's a novel of about 74,000 words.

The Ebb: Volume 1 (The Lady of the Pier)

Soultime: novel of a hard start

Like a comic cosmic Blues song, SOULTIME is a story of woe and at the same time, full of joy and flights of wild imagination.

SOULTIME is two million years of human development compressed into a single lifetime...

Into the life of the nerdy Neanderthal Amar...

...who one night dreams of a ritual that helps the hunters of his tribe find antelope.

Believing that Amar has special abilities, his tribe asks him to communicate with their dead ancestors for them.

He tries to appease his tribespeople by faking some messages, but when the ancestors actually do appear, they're none too pleased for being bothered.

To escape tribal pressures, Amar then flees into the desert, where he enters a painful parallel reality called the Otherworld.

There, he undergoes a mythic experience--including an encounter with a dead lover who's been transformed into an antelope.

Though Amar returns with boons for his people, subsequent lies lead him back to the Otherworld.

Each time he undergoes another horrific mythic transformation and each time, he brings back some new tool for his people.

Though these boons help to further civilization, the free and easy lifestyle of his tribe is ruined. Increasingly, their life involves longer work hours, bad housing, conflict, confusion, avarice, and war.

Amar keeps trying to bring his people back to center before they destroy themselves--or try to destroy others. But to do so, he must also battle his own flaws and foibles. In both cases, he too often loses the battle.

At the climax, the survival of all hangs in the balance.

SOULTIME is the dark comedy of our history viewed with both sadness and hope.

SOULTIME is part Monty Python, part Joseph Campbell, part Alice In Wonderful, part Old Testament, part mystic hallucination...

SOULTIME combines all these parts to create its own separate world, a world unique.

Finding Arun (Living Lies)

Essential Things

In this poem/story, the narrator is a person in a hurry who drives a high-tech car that has the newest "digital doodads and doohickeys" as well as the latest "thing-a-ma-jigs, thing-a-ma-bobs, and what-cha-ma-call-its."

When the car's many iGadgets implode and explode, the narrator must make a transformative journey.

I considered my car to be the best one around,

The best high-tech model in town.

However, on that day, something went wrong.

Something snapped and banged as loud as a gong.

The thing-a-ma-jigs had gone all askew,

And I did not know what to do.

The car slowed down to a crawl,

Then stopped when the engine stalled.

I opened the hood to find out what was wrong,

But the list of problems was incredibly long.

The things that made my car go so fast

Seemed to have imploded in a blast.

The thing-a-ma-jig and the thing-a-ma-bob had both broken loose,

And the what-cha-ma-call-it was wobbling like the head of a goose.

A digital doodad had exploded,

Scattering all the iCircuits

With which it was loaded.

The Buddha of Ballyhuppahaun: A New Age Fable

Inspired by the arrival of the Rainbow Travellers to the Slieve Bloom Mountains in the summer of 1993, The Buddha of Ballyhuppahaun is strongly influenced by the satirical classics Gulliver's Travels and Animal Farm and also draws on the parables and philosophy of Zen Flesh, Zen Bones.

In this ageless fable the battle lines are drawn. The Buddha is in a race against time to save the human race. The Rainbow Travellers are not the chosen few, but the few who have chosen.
