Bullet Drop: A London Carter Novel (London Carter Mystery Series Book 4)

While Dawn Luke travels to her hometown of Arkansas to tend to her sick mother, London Carter is called upon to investigate the murder of a young teenager whose body is found stuffed under the exit ramp of an overpass. It was apparent to London that the murderer wanted to make sure the kid was dead, but the motive for the killing was far from obvious.

Summoning the assistance of Detective Rachael Bowler, the two are finally able to locate the actual crime scene and that leads them to the identity of their young victim. But instead of providing answers, the identification leads to more questions. Could a secret involving the young man lead them to the killer, or will it only muddy the waters and interfere with their investigation?

Whatever the case, this is one killer no one should take for granted--not even a cop as skilled and gritty as London Carter.

The Picture of Dorian Gray

The Picture of Dorian Gray is an 1891 philosophical novel by Irish writer and playwright Oscar Wilde. First published as a serial story in the July 1890 issue of Lippincott's Monthly Magazine, the editors feared the story was indecent, and without Wilde's knowledge, deleted five hundred words before publication. Despite that censorship, The Picture of Dorian Gray offended the moral sensibilities of British book reviewers, some of whom said that Oscar Wilde merited prosecution for violating the laws guarding the public morality. In response, Wilde aggressively defended his novel and art in correspondence with the British press. Wilde revised and expanded the magazine edition of The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890) for publication as a novel; the book edition (1891) featured an aphoristic preface - an apologia about the art of the novel and the reader. The content, style, and presentation of the preface made it famous in its own literary right, as social and cultural criticism. In April 1891, the editorial house Ward, Lock and Company published the revised version of The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Collection

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional detective of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, who first appeared in publication in 1887. He is the creation of Scottish born author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. A brilliant London-based detective, Holmes is famous for his intellectual prowess, and is renowned for his skillful use of deductive reasoning (somewhat mistakenly - see inductive reasoning) and astute observation to solve difficult cases. He is arguably the most famous fictional detective ever created, and is one of the best known and most universally recognizable literary characters in any genre. Conan Doyle wrote four novels and fifty-six short stories that featured Holmes. All but four stories were narrated by Holmes' friend and biographer, Dr. John H. Watson, two having been narrated by Holmes himself, and two others written in the third person. The first two stories, short novels, appeared in Beeton's Christmas Annual for 1887 and Lippincott's Monthly Magazine in 1890. The character grew tremendously in popularity with the beginning of the first series of short stories in The Strand Magazine in 1891; further series of short stories and two serialized novels appeared almost right up to Conan Doyle's death in 1930. The stories cover a period from around 1878 up to 1903, with a final case in 1914. in this collection you will find: Novels: o A Study in Scarlet o The Sign of the Four o The Hound of the Baskervilles o The Valley of Fear Short Story Collections: o The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes o The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes o The Return of Sherlock Holmes o His Last Bow o The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes

ONE TRAGEDY ... FOR THE MOMENT

When DI Crosier's office rang him at 5am on his day off, he instinctively knew he would not be spending the rest of Sunday with Sergeant Claire Cardin in her bed, as they'd both hoped. It was more likely they'd be investigating yet another tragedy.

What the officers couldn't foresee, once they'd reached the crime scene, was that eleven-year-old Jack - now made homeless through his deranged mother's despair and suicide - would be exposed to abuse from an assumed pillar of society.

Could finding where the boy's father was living save poor Jack?

But that wasn't Crosier's only problem: he felt sure the letter from his wife, lurking unopened in his pocket now for days, would not make easy reading.

I've always been interested in why rail accidents occur and investigating them can make a good story, especially when based on a real event, as in my first novel Harrowing.

Is a lot of research needed?

A moderate amount is needed, particularly when real events are used as in part 2 of Poor Jack.

Why are your railway detective books set in the 1960s?

There are two reasons. First, there is an excellent series of railway detective novels by Edward Marston set in the 19th century, the century in which the railway police was formed and from which all police forces grew. The second reason is that I grew up near the railway in the days of steam, so I write about what I know.

Will there be more railway detective books from you?

Yes. Checkout edwintipple.com for more updates.

Beyond Dead: A Bridget Sway Novel (A Paranormal Ghost Cozy Mystery Series Book 1)

You thought living was hard? You should try being dead ...

Dead less than twenty-four hours, with a job that doesn't pay, a fashion disaster for a uniform and more afterlife rules than she can shake a stick at, Bridget Sway thinks it's as bad as it can get. And then she finds a dead ghost stuffed in her locker.

Since the police are desperate to arrest her for murder, Bridget's new best friend convinces her the only way to save herself from an eternity in prison is to solve the murder themselves.

With a handsome parole officer watching her every move, an outlaw ghost befriending her and two persistent mediums demanding her attention, solving the murder is not quite as easy as it sounds. And when "murder" turns into "murders" Bridget needs to solve the case ... before she becomes the next dead body stuffed in her locker.

Interview with the author

What makes the Bridget Sway series so special?

I think it's a couple of things, to be honest. I read across genres, from cozy mysteries to paranormal mysteries to a wide range of chick lit. So when I was writing the Bridget Sway series, I wanted to incorporate all of my favourite elements of those genres into the series and the characters as well.

That might sound like a bit of a strange mash up, but it blends together really well. From cozy mysteries, I stole the dead bodies and the amateur sleuthing because I love whodunnits! One of the things that can become frustrating in cozy mysteries, though, is the ditsy heroine that continually runs into dangerous situations. I wanted to make Bridget smarter than the average cozy amateur sleuth, so I gave her the sassy or snarky attitude of the strong female characters that are so prevalent in the paranormal mystery genre. I also borrowed a little of the sarcastic wit and humor as well. Because everyone needs a little humor when finding dead bodies!

And, despite her being a ghost, I wanted to make sure Bridget Sway was relatable, so I made sure she struggles with friendships and personal growth just like everyone in real life. Both of these themes are dominant in the chick lit genre.

All of this means that the Bridget Sway series has roots in all three genres; cozy mystery, paranormal mystery, and chick lit. I think this is what makes the series so popular because it appeals to a much wider audience.

Who would enjoy the series?

Really, anyone who loves a good whodunnit!

With it being part cozy mystery it means there's no swearing or sex, and no real blood--people aren't getting limbs lobbed off--so it's fine for younger readers. And, apart from the fact it's set in the afterlife and the characters are ghosts, the paranormal element is fairly limited to that. It's not a horror story by any stretch of the imagination.

In terms of similar reads, I think if you enjoy Angie Fox's Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries, Angela Roquet's Lana Harvey series or Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse/Harper ConnellyGrave Sight series then you're in the right place!

Do you have to read them in order?

Nope, you don't. They're all standalone mysteries so you can read them in any order. That said, it is a series, so to get the most out of it I'd suggest the following order:

Just a Touch Dead (prequel)

Beyond Dead

Deader Still

A Little More Dead

Dead and Buried

The First Shot (Lieutenant Kane - Dedicated to Death Series Book 1)

The First Shot: Book One in The Lieutenant Kane Dedicated to Death Series

For Tampa homicide lieutenant Carl Kane, death is his life. If a single award existed for sinking himself into his work, he'd have two.

But the latest crime scene he's called to, an old abandoned factory, leaves him with more bodies than leads. Three drug dealers are found shot to death--not an uncommon sight in the least. The problem lies with the pair of middle-aged women--bound, gagged, and executed--found at the same location.

Before he can sink his teeth into the initial investigation, Kane is called out to another multiple homicide. He comes up with only more questions when the second group of murders appears connected to the first.

As the lieutenant tracks down the few leads, he begins to get a clearer picture of those he seeks. That picture quickly turns crystal clear when Kane finds himself face-to-face with someone that "armed and dangerous" doesn't even begin to describe.

Where There's Smoke: Charlie Walden's First Case (Walden of Bermondsey)

Meet Judge Charlie Walden in the first case of six from the novel, Walden of Bermondsey

If you like Rumpole of the Bailey, you'll love Walden of Bermondsey

When Charlie Walden took on the job of Resident Judge of the Bermondsey Crown Court, he was hoping for a quiet life. But he soon finds himself struggling to keep the peace between three feisty fellow judges who have very different views about how to do their job, and about how Charlie should do his.

And as if that's not enough, there's the endless battle against the 'Grey Smoothies', the humourless grey-suited civil servants who seem determined to drown Charlie in paperwork and strip the court of its last vestiges of civilisation.

No hope of a quiet life then for Charlie, and there are times when his real job - trying the challenging criminal cases that come before him - actually seems like light relief.

Praise for Walden of Bermondsey

'No one writes with more wit, warmth and insight about the law and its practitioners than Peter Murphy. He has no equal since the great John 'Rumpole' Mortimer' - David Ambrose

'Though his exasperation is sometimes palpable, what triumphs over everything is his sense of humour. And it is the humour that makes Walden of Bermondsey such a delightful read. Think of him as what Rumpole would be like if he ever became a judge, and you get some idea of his self-deprecating wit and indomitable stoicism. Add a dash of Henry Cecil for his situation and AP Herbert for the fun he has with the law, and you get a sense of Peter's literary precedents' - Paul Magrath

Preludes: A Story of Child Sexual Abuse from a Child’s Perspective in a Middle Class American Family

Illuminating the horrors of child sexual abuse from a child's perspective, "Preludes" is a novella-length story chronicling the experiences of a nine-year-old boy as he struggles to survive sexual abuse by his father in a middle class American family in the 1960s. "Preludes" is based in significant part on the experiences of its author, a child sexual abuse survivor.

* * *

When a nine-year-old boy in a "respectable," middle class family is raped, then repeatedly molested by his father, how does the boy experience the abuse and how does he manage to survive?

"Preludes" examines these questions.

The boy wakes in the middle of the night to find his father sitting on the edge of his bed, gently shaking him from his sleep. Though confused by his father's unexpected presence, for a few brief moments he suspects nothing unusual.

His father then accuses him of having misbehaved without saying how, and tells him he'll have to be punished. The boy initially protests, but then, sensing the futility of resistance, grudgingly prepares himself for what his father tells him will be a spanking, all the while thinking, "Gee, this is ridiculous--I haven't done anything wrong." His father then proceeds to rape him, and, the rape completed, threatens to murder him if he tells anyone, including his mother.

Thus begins the boy's struggle for survival in the face of his father's nightly onslaughts--a struggle that stretches the boy's physical, psychological, and emotional resources to their limits and beyond.

Adding to his struggle's immensity is the story's milieu: a "Pleasantville" middle class neighborhood in a mid-sized American city in the early 1960s--an environment that gives no indication, on its surface, that dysfunction of such proportions could occur within its hermetic confines. The boy's family enjoys a high status--the father is a professor at a prestigious university, and the family belongs to a Presbyterian church that counts among its members some of the city's most prominent citizens. It is an environment in which acknowledgement of even the merest possibility of child sexual abuse within a family as respectable as that of the boy's is as taboo as the abuse itself. Sensing these constrictions, the boy feels his isolation in his suffering increase exponentially.

The prime importance placed by the community on maintaining a semblance of normalcy, no matter the cost to the truth, extends to the day-to-day life of the boy's home. The family's nightly meals together, at a table set with engraved silverware and an "everyday" china of the most tasteful design, and the "Smile Club" photos the boy's mother hangs in the downstairs hallway--family photos, taken regularly, for which the fundamental requisite is that everyone in them be wearing a pleasant smile--help form the bulwark of the mother's determined effort to put the best possible face on things.

To survive, the boy attempts to hide the truth as much as possible, even from himself, with his mind employing, as its chief means to this end, a total forgetting of the abuse when it's not actually happening--a strategy his mind has utilized on previous occasions of his father's abuse.

But survival, though laudable, comes at an enormous price--a price exacted, among other ways, in the warped perception the boy forms of what it means to "be a man." A price, the story suggests, the boy will have to pay going forward, into adulthood, until he reaches a point of substantial healing.

Ice Blue: Volume 1 (Lord & Lady Hetheridge)

"What made this ebook such pleasurable reading was not the murder or even the Police procedure, but the rather wonderful cast of characters that the author, Emma Jameson, has created to populate her world. In the space of about 184 pages, Emma has managed to give us a whole collection of individuals, each very nicely rounded out and real. Even very minor players - such as the tall PC who finds the pistol seems to be alive and obviously has a life outside the book." -- Tony Cole, eBookanoid.com *** Anthony Hetheridge, ninth Baron of Wellegrave, Chief Superintendent for New Scotland Yard, never married, no children, no pets, no hobbies, and not even an interesting vice, will turn sixty in three weeks. But then he meets Detective Sergeant Kate Wakefield - beautiful, willful, and nearly half his age. When Hetheridge saves the outspoken, impetuous young detective from getting the sack, siding with her against Scotland Yard's powerful male hierarchy, his cold, elegantly balanced world spins out of control. Summoned to London's fashionable Belgravia to investigate the brutal murder of a financier, Hetheridge must catch the killer while coping with his growing attraction to Kate, the reappearance of an old flame, and the secret that emerges from his own past.

Blake Pierce: Mystery Bundle (Before He Kills, Cause to Kill, Once Gone and A Trace of Death)

Here is a bundle of the first books in four Blake Pierce series--the Mackenzie White, the Avery Black, the Riley Paige, and the Keri Locke series--all here in one convenient place. This bundle offers a great introduction to Blake Pierce's series with over 200,000 words of reading.

In BEFORE HE KILLS, a woman is found murdered in the cornfields of Nebraska, strung up on a pole, the victim of a deranged killer. It doesn't take long for the police to realize a serial killer is on the loose--and that his spree has just begun. Detective Mackenzie White, young, tough, smarter than the aging, chauvinistic men on her local force, finds herself called in grudgingly to help solve it. As much as the other officers hate to admit it, they need her young, brilliant mind, which has already helped crack cold cases that had left them stumped. Yet even for Mackenzie this new case proves an impossible riddle, something the likes of which she--and the local force--have ever seen. With the FBI called in, together, an intense manhunt ensues. Mackenzie, reeling from her own dark past, her failed relationships, and her undeniable attraction to the new FBI agent, finds herself battling her own demons as her hunt for the killer takes her to the darkest places of her mind.

In CAUSE TO KILL, Homicide Detective Avery Black has been through hell. Once a top criminal defense attorney, she fell from grace when she managed to get a brilliant Harvard professor off--only to watch him kill again. She lost her husband and her daughter, and her life fell apart around her. Trying to redeem herself, Avery has turned to the other side of the law. Working her way up the ranks, she has reached Homicide Detective, to the scorn of her fellow officers, who still remember what she did, and who will always hate her.Yet even they cannot deny Avery's brilliant mind, and when a disturbing serial killer strikes fear into the heart of Boston, killing girls from elite colleges, it is Avery that they turn to. It is Avery's chance to prove herself, to finally find the redemption she craves. And yet, as she is soon to find out, Avery has come up against a killer as brilliant and daring as she.

In ONCE GONE, women are turning up dead in the rural outskirts of Virginia, killed in grotesque ways, and when the FBI is called in, they are stumped. A serial killer is out there, his frequency increasing, and they know there is only one agent good enough to crack this case: Special Agent Riley Paige. Riley is on paid leave herself, recovering from her encounter with her last serial killer, and, fragile as she is, the FBI is reluctant to tap her brilliant mind. Yet Riley, needing to battle her own demons, comes on board, and her hunt leads her through the disturbing subculture of doll collectors, into the homes of broken families, and into the darkest canals of the killer's mind. As Riley peels back the layers, she realizes she is up against a killer more twisted than she could have imagined.

In A TRACE OF DEATH, Keri Locke, Missing Persons Detective in the Homicide division of the LAPD, remains haunted by the abduction of her own daughter, years before, never found. Still obsessed with finding her, Keri buries her grief the only way she knows how: by throwing herself into the cases of missing persons in Los Angeles. A routine phone call from a worried mother of a high-schooler, only two hours missing, should be ignored. Yet something about the mother's voice strikes a chord, and Keri decides to investigate. What she finds shocks her. The missing daughter--of a prominent senator--was hiding secrets no one knew. When all evidence points to a runaway, Keri is ordered off the case. And yet, despite pressure from her superiors, from the media, despite all trails going cold, the brilliant and obsessed Keri refuses to let it go. She knows she has but 48 hours if she has any chance of bringing this girl back alive.

The basement where they kept the apple cider was dead quiet. Marissa, Mr. Howard's lawfully wedded wife of about forty years knew immediately that something was dead wrong. The apple ciders looked fine and from the look of things, Mr. Howard and finally finished his investigation. Marissa let out a sigh, thinking that she was probably overthinking and that was the main reason she suspected something had happened to her husband. But when she made a turn and started heading back, her foot hit on something that made her come to a screeching halt and looked down.

There he was, Mr. Howard, dead and his body had rolled under one of the stands, explaining why she had missed it in the first place. Marissa was in shock, not knowing what to do next. And that said, the only thing that she could do was scream as loud as her old lungs could right before falling next to her husband, trying to shake him awake.

On Hosting Your Regency-Era Christmas Party: A Companion to Jane and the Twelve Days of Christmas

As they prepare for the twelve days of Christmas festivities, the guests are all in a celebratory mood--until one of the Yuletide revelers dies in a riding accident, which Jane immediately views with suspicion. With clues scattered amidst cleverly crafted charades, dark secrets coming to light during parlor games, and old friendships returning to haunt the Christmas parties, can Jane discover the truth and stop the killer from striking again?

The Voyage of The Hansa (Sherlock Holmes in the Country of the Saints Book 2)

It is May 4, 1891, and Sherlock Holmes is dead--or so all the world believes.

His struggle with his archenemy, Professor Moriarty, on the precarious footpath overlooking the Reichenbach Falls in Switzerland and their fatal plunge into the abyss have been reported in all of the newspapers of Europe. In London, the death of Sherlock Holmes is mourned by Scotland Yard and especially by his friend, Dr. John Watson.

But Holmes is not dead.

He has escaped and is very much alive.

Among his friends, only his brother, the enigmatic but lethargic genius Mycroft Holmes, knows of his survival and escape. Among his enemies, Colonel Sebastian Moran, Professor Moriarty's chief henchman, is also well aware that Holmes has escaped from the Reichenbach Falls and is making his way to Hamburg, Germany. Moran has gathered his agents to pick up Holmes's trail and to find and destroy him.

The new mystery series Sherlock Holmes in the Country of the Saints, by Daniel Bay Gibbons and published by Sixteen Stones Press, will chronicle Holmes's adventures during the "Lost Years" of 1891 to 1894. During that time Holmes is in hiding, armed only with his physical strength, his phenomenal memory, his cold logic, and his certainty that he will ultimately escape from and prevail over his enemies. In Hamburg, Holmes eludes the notice of his enemies by assuming the Norwegian name of "Sigerson" and the disguise of an itinerant Mormon missionary. He is able to depart Germany unnoticed by falling in with a group of Mormons who are emigrating from Germany to America aboard the German passenger ship Hansa. From thence he travels across the United States by railway, stopping for some weeks in the Territory of Utah, the scene of the second part of the first Sherlock Holmes novel, A Study in Scarlet. While in Utah, Holmes meets the Mormon Prophet, explores the vast "Country of the Saints," solves a series of baffling crimes, and then travels to San Francisco, where he books passage across the Pacific.

A second series of Holmes tales, Sherlock Holmes in the Country of the Tsars, will pick up the story with Holmes visiting the Kingdom of Hawaii, exploring the exotic island of Japan, and then traveling across the vast expanse of Asiatic Russia to Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

The twelve adventures recounted in Sherlock Holmes in the Country of the Saints range from Hamburg to New York, and from Nauvoo to Salt Lake City and "The Great Alkali Plain" of the Western United States.

For Holmes fans, the stories in Sherlock Holmes in the Country of the Saints fill a great gap in the knowledge of Holmes's whereabouts and activities during "the Lost Years" of 1891 to 1894.

Daniel Bay Gibbons is a former practicing attorney and trial judge. He interrupted his legal career to serve a three-year mission to Russia and Central Asia with his wife, Julie. They are the parents of five children and grandparents of four. He is now a full-time writer living in Holladay, Utah. He has been an avid reader of the Sherlock Holmes canon for nearly fifty years.

The complete series Sherlock Holmes in the Country of the Saints: Twelve Tales from the Lost Years will be published serially in e-book format, followed by an omnibus print and e-book edition including all twelve parts. The twelve tales are, in order:

"The Norwegian Missionary"

"The Voyage of The Hansa"

"The Problem of the Temple Door Keys"

"The Singular Affair of the Gentile's Portmanteau"

"The Case of the Prophet's Scribe"

"The Problem of the Tabernacle Dome"

"The Chamber of Timpanogas"

"The Adventure on the Tar Sands"

"The Case of the Rainbow Archway"

"The Mystery of the Kaibab Passage"

"The King of the Wasatch"

"The Rails of the Great Alkali Plain"

My Sweet Captive

There's nothing remarkable about the woman tied to the chair before me. At least, that's what I tell myself. I have to keep an emotional distance if I'm going to watch my sadistic brother torture my captive.

There are so many other ways I'd like to break her, none of which involve carving her up. Her pale skin would mark up nicely under my darker forms of discipline.

When my brother decides to spare her and give her to me instead, I know I'm lost to those sky blue eyes. Samantha will be mine.

Note: My Sweet Captive is the beginning of Samantha and Andres' dark romance told from Andres' point of view. It can be read before Sweet Captivity as a prequel, or after Sweet Captivity as bonus material.

And an introduction to Bella Thorpe, who shares her passion for supernatural novels, provides Cat with a like-minded friend. But with Bella comes her brother John, an obnoxious banker whose vulgar behaviour seems designed to thwart Cat's growing fondness for Henry.

Happily, rescue is at hand. The rigidly formal General Tilney invites her to stay at Northanger with son Henry and daughter Eleanor. Cat's imagination runs riot: an ancient abbey, crumbling turrets, secret chambers, ghosts...and Henry! What could be more deliciously romantic?

But Cat gets far more than she bargained for in this isolated corner of the Scottish Borders. The real world outside the pages of a novel proves to be altogether more disturbing than the imagined world within...

A Mother's Day: A Short Story

AN ORIGINAL SHORT STORY

FROM THE CELEBRATED AUTHOR OF

THE BESTSELLING NOVEL HERE, HOME, HOPE ....

Three mothers. Three sons. One day that changes them all forever.

Five Star Reviews!

"Nicely written - very quick read - sad moment but wonderfully heartwarming! Ms. Rouda - you're Light Blue!" ~ Stacy Eaton, author

"Kaira Rouda does an amazing job of weaving three disparate tales together by uniting them around a single shocking event as observed by three very different types of women, all at different stages of motherhood. Her voice is authentic and each story is engaging and leaves you wanting to know more. It was a perfect story." ~ Hobson, Amazon Reviewer

"I enjoyed the short story which delves into the lives of three different women who are mothers - each of them is at a different stage of motherhood (a new mom with a baby to a mom of a teenage son) and each has boys (I have two sons myself). We get a peek into the lives of these three women on Mother's Day and a shocking event that happens that they are all tied to in some way - a life-changing event - and eventually see how the three moms are connected (think like the movie CRASH with Sandra Bullock where the characters are slightly connected). For those who enjoy it, dive into the author's full-length novel called HERE, HOME, HOPE. Both are great reads for women who enjoy women's fiction novels that are both inspiring, real and well written." ~ WriterCrys, Amazon Reviewer

Forty Days to Armageddon

Written by the winner of the Hub Nugget Writer 2012 Award.

A half-billion would die before it was over....

The day the Iranians set off a forty megaton nuke marked the beginning of a new world order. The Russians covertly assist the Admiral who sets a plan in motion disrupting the world's oil supply that will ultimately alter the course of history.

The Western World is panic stricken with the thought that Iran threatens first Israel, then the entire world with nuclear destruction. The Iranian president continues his ranting at the UN that Allah has willed the destruction of the evil Zionists.

Old hostilities are tossed aside and new alliances are formed in smoke filled backrooms of the UN, the Kremlin and the White House. Third world nations, particularly Somalia, suddenly become strategically important and the super powers struggle to sort it all out and battle for position. The stakes could not be higher.

Houston Robinson, better known as Watchdogg, an unofficial Cabinet advisor to the president, sets out to discover the truth to all the crises that suddenly appear out of nowhere. Tourists are mysteriously kidnapped off the streets of Europe and surface in the largest supertanker hijacking in history. The USS George H.W. Bush is a target of an Iranian airbus attack in the Indian Ocean. Pandemonium in the oil futures markets sends oil prices to dizzying heights in a Venezuela Chinese oil coup. The entire planet it seems is being turned upside down when the Admiral seizes the world's oil supply. Economies crumble at a dizzying pace while others flourish depending upon their role in the new order.

Watchdogg finds himself in backroom politics with the Amir Harazi the Prime Minister of Israel who has plans of his own to bring a stop to the Iranian missiles that threaten to destroy his country in another Holocaust.

You will be taken into the cockpits of Super Hornets and Lightning II's with the men and women who carry out the orders of world leaders. You'll witness the agonizing decisions of generals and commanders who place their careers on the line carrying out the orders of presidents and prime ministers. Inevitably Watchdogg runs head to head with the Admiral. Millions of lives hang in the balance as the world threatens to self destruct from greed and power.

This story is taken from tomorrow's headlines. It's a prophetic tale that will scare you with its chilling back room deals and double-crosses. Who is friend? Who is foe?

It's a good thing Watchdogg is here to figure it all out and see that the Admiral's plan to hijack the world's oil is waylaid. Should he do it? Can he do it? Let's hope so.

The Black Cat (American Roots)

Edgar Allan Poe, the father of American horror fiction, first published his macabre short story The Black Cat in the August 19, 1843 edition of The Saturday Evening Post. The frightening tale of a murderer tormented by guilt over his terrible deeds is a classic. The narrator s admission that much of his bad behavior and deranged thinking is the result of demon alcohol is possibly autobiographical, as Poe himself struggled with alcoholism throughout his life. This short work is part of Applewood s American Roots, series, tactile mementos of American passions by some of America s most famous writers and thinkers."
