Is Graffiti Art?

See a scribble or a full mural on the side of a building or subway and most people will turn their heads in disgust. Why? Because most have a misconception of what art is, the different types of art and its history. So the question here is how can one artist, one supporter or maybe a whole community change the perspective of the world about what graffiti is and how it all began.

Larger portion of society looks at graffiti as a non-form of art. In this research essay I would like you to open your mind and for you to really take a moment to think quietly to yourself and ask what art is.

Graffiti Art is, as Banksy describes,

"Imagine a city where graffiti wasn't illegal, a city where everybody could draw whatever they liked. Where every street was awash with a million colours and little phrases. Where standing at a bus stop was never boring. A city that felt like a party where everyone was invited, not just the estate agents and barons of big business. Imagine a city like that and stop leaning against the wall - it's wet."

- Banksy, Wall and Piece

Or as Cath Crowley, Graffiti Moon

"I spray the sky fast. Eyes ahead and behind. Looking for cops. Looking for anyone I don't want to be here. Paint sails and the things that kick in my head scream from can to brick. See this, see this. See me emptied onto a wall."

Cath Crowley, Graffiti Moon

So while you read this research essay keep the question in the back of your mind...Is Graffiti Art?

A Horological and Mathematical Defense of Philosophical Pitch

This is a short article written to copyright a pioneering idea in the realm of music theory. The problem with the concert pitch debate is that most every proposition has been subjectively reasoned, with no logical justification as to why any pitch makes more sense than any other. I note the origins of the second-hand in timekeeping and how they most sensibly relate to pitch frequencies in music based on the sexagesimal system to give us a further breakdown of time and measurement in tonality, which music is intended to do at its most fundamental. In this argument is a bit about why Five Limit Tuning is better than Equal Temperament, when it used with the Philosophical Pitch standard of C256 to make a new set of stacking thirds pitches in the chromatic scale so as to make their lowest octaves the very numerators and denominators by which every note in the chromatic scale is derived to begin with. Altogether a tight and cogent argument.

ENCORE on Elijah

The Prophet Elijah was a sage who could usher fire from the sky and bring the dead back to life. He never died. God just whisked him off in a mysterious sky chariot. He is prophesied to return again in the Last Days.

Had there been a hidden number '26' in the artwork related to the great prophet Elijah? What would it mean? Step aboard the enchanted mystery ship for a journey through the lifetime events of Elijah. Utilizing an extravaganza of vibrant illustrations from history's most eminent artists, this book first highlights the fine points of the fundamental story and then acquaints the readers with its history and overall context. The readers embark upon a tour through Elijah's mind-blowing adventures in prophesy. Readers will then learn the intricacies of the number '26,' but what is even more important--by carefully piecing together the scattered clues, they will be brought nearer to the closely guarded message hidden deep inside the deliberately obscured art. There is a message hidden in the art. Only this author exposes the true intent of the ancient authors and artists, fishing out the actual concealed message from the muddy pond of hints and innuendo. Upending the apple cart on what should be found within the riddles, the author has ferreted out the secret message. The message isn't what anyone expected. In effect, the end result creates a paradigm shift on how these ancient works should be considered. Surprisingly, there had been hidden secrets in the artwork related to the great Prophet Elijah. This is one of the first books in that it only covers the number '26.' Please see the 'Enigmatic' books to explore the latter discovered secrets like rebus picture words.

906606: Volume One the Self Tattooing of Nick Armbrister

I like tattoos. Over the years I've added to my collection till I'm now 75% covered. Only my face and neck, hands and feet aren't inked. I'm filling in the remaining gaps with varied artwork. This includes doing my own tattoos either by electric gun or by hand. I thought doing it by hand would be easy; how wrong I was!

I learned by trial and error. I got advice from some of my artists. My first series of tattoos were done by hand and using ball point pen ink. This works for some people but not me! Ink went all over the bed sheets. More dangerously, my body reacted against the ink and it all lifted out leaving bad scars. There's a lesson there: DO NOT USE PEN INK!

I got proper ink from my artist and tattooed a way. I did two sessions a week for months. Dozens of small tattoos filled in the gaps on my legs and other places. I slowly got better. Being good at art, I found drawing out the designs no problem. The quality of my hand done tats improved. See for yourself... Did I succeed or fail or...?

How to Draw Step-By-Step With Special Kids

We are all different, but we all have similarities, even children with special needs. This book was written to raise awareness of the importance of all children. The story points out our similarities. We have pets, families, and a places we call home. All children are important. This book is a short fictional story written from the perspective of a young girl with special needs. Included with the story, step-by-step drawing instructions of illustrations from the story are printed in the back. These instructions are easy to follow for children or parents assisting their children. Instruction begins with one line or shape and continues adding one line and shape at a time. Each new addition is printed in a different color to help the student visually locate the new line. With such precise instruction, learners quickly learn how to self guide their way through the other lessons. Best of all, we learn to value all individuals.
